Short Description

Each year Forest Holme Hospice cares for over 1000 adults across Poole, Wimborne and the Isle of Purbeck who are living with advanced cancer and other life limiting illnesses. The aim of the hospice is to make our patients last hours, days and weeks of life as comfortable and as pain free as possible. We provide care within hospitals, in care homes, within the hospice and in patients own homes.  We also provide comfort and support to their families and friends.  This care extends after their loved ones have passed, through our counselling service. One patient’s relative said “Forest Holme is a sanctuary, it is a place filled with love and kindness, with staff who become friends at the most desperate of times and give you their time unconditionally. Our expertise covers a range of life limiting and terminal illnesses including; advanced cancer, Motor Neurone disease, Parkinson and respiratory conditions.  We have a team of highly trained doctors nurses, therapists and counsellors who aim to make our patients feel as well as possible for as long as possible – giving them time to spend with their families and create special memories, which will be treasured for years to come.
